World Outlander Day brought some significant updates about when the latest droughtlander will be over.
Starz revealed during the big event that Outlander Season 7, part 2, will premiere on Friday, November 22, 2024.
The news means the show will have been off the air for over 15 months by the time it returns.
Although the reason for the lengthy delay has not been determined, the show is already hard at work filming its eighth and final season.
At one point, Starz prioritized Outlander, but it seems the network doesn’t value the show as much as it once did, meaning we could wait a long time for the final episodes.
The good news is that eight new episodes will hit the air later this year, and the latest teaser hints at some big swings in the storytelling department.

Outlander star Sam Heughan was recently spotted getting cozy with a new woman in London. So, has the Jamie Fraser actor finally found his real-life Claire? Here’s what we know so far.
Outlander: Actor Sam Heughan Melts Hearts As Jamie Fraser
Actor Sam Heughan has been melting hearts since he was cast in the lead role of Jamie Fraser in the Starz adaptation of the best-selling Diana Gabaldon series. This has been Heughan’s biggest role to date, and one that he has portrayed masterfully since the first season of the period drama.
Book readers and faithful show watchers alike both say how much chemistry Sam Heughan has with his Outlander co-star, Caitriona Balfe. That chemistry comes across on-screen in a way that brings Jamie and Claire Fraser to life. Because of how much chemistry the actors have, many fans say they could not have done a better job casting those lead roles.

With Outlander Season 7 airing on Starz, fans wonder when the latest entry into the historical epic will be released on Netflix.
The Caitríona Balfe-led drama (based on Diana Gabaldon's series of novels) centers on a 1945 World War II nurse who mysteriously finds herself transported back in time to 1743, where she falls in love with a Highland warrior, Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan).
With only two more books to adapt (after Season 7), it remains unknown when Outlander will end. However, with the show's continued popularity beyond its home network of Starz, it could still be long before it is given the hook.

Are you experiencing symptoms of Droughtlander? Signs may include: watching old Outlander episodes over and over, even though you’ve seen them a dozen times already; repeatedly whispering “Sassenach” under your breath in a Scottish brogue, much to your friends’ consternation; toting around one (or more) of author Diana Gabaldon’s books in your bag just to feel something.
Yes, the long wait for new episodes of the series — which stars Caitríona Balfe as English time-traveler Claire and Sam Heughan as her Highlander love, Jamie — can be downright maddening. But, thankfully, there’s some relief to be had. For starters, the first six seasons are streaming on Netflix. And if you’re thirsty for even more of the romance, adventure, and intrigue that Outlander provides, consider these nine shows a refreshing drink of water (or Scotch whisky — we won’t judge). Dive in and you’ll soon be saying, “What Droughtlander?...

Time travel. Romance. Political intrigue. Bare bottoms. Yes, Outlander truly has something for everybody. Whether you’ve watched the beloved series a hundred times over or it’s your first encounter with feisty heroine Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and her hunky Highlander Jamie (Sam Heughan), the centuries-spanning story of love conquering all never gets old.
With Season 6 now streaming alongside its predecessors, there’s no time like the present to queue up these 12 essential episodes and get caught up in Jamie and Claire’s story all over again. (And dinna fash: We won’t tell if you rewind the steamiest parts over and over again…)
Still not enough for you? There’s an bounty of shows like Outlanderyou can check out after revisiting these episodes.

As you prep your 2024 Emmy predictions for Best Drama Actress, make sure you check out our photo gallery showcasing the likeliest contenders. None of last year’s half dozen nominees – including winner Sarah Snook (“Succession”) – are eligible this time, leaving plenty of slots open for both newcomers and past hopefuls.

They are Sharon Horgan (“Bad Sisters”), Melanie Lynskey (“Yellowjackets”), Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Bella Ramsey (“The Last of Us”), and Keri Russell (“The Diplomat”).
With all of those actresses out of the running, the current race leader is Jennifer Aniston (“The Morning Show”), who was recognized for the same series in 2020 and won Best Comedy Actress for “Friends” in 2002. In what feels like the longest Droughtlander of them all, Starz revealed Thursday that its hit series Outlander will return with Season 7, Part 2 in November.
Season 7 is an extra-large extended season with 16 episodes split into two parts. The release of Part 2 was delayed about a year due to the writers and actors strikes. To catch up before then, every season, including Season 7, Part 1, is currently available to stream via the Starz app.
Inspired by Diana Gabaldon’s international bestsellers, Outlander follows Claire (Caitríona Balfe), a married former World War II nurse who in 1946 finds herself transported back to Scotland in 1743. Claire finds her true love was living in the past, dashing Highland warrior Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). Each season, their love story expands, with Claire taking occasional trips into the future, and new characters are introduced into their tale.

Joy and happiness are Oscar worthy. It has happened and should happen more often.
I want to first get this out of the way and establish that I am a massive fan of all the potential awards nominees this year. Recently, as I have done for years, I sat down to catch up on all the films that are buzzing around town gaining traction and priming themselves for potential best picture nominations at the Oscars and other noteworthy awards shows and events. I thought ‘The Power of the Dog’ and ‘The Lost Daughter’ were brilliant, moving, insightful, and immensely thoughtful movies.
While I was impressed at their content, performances, and overall filmmaking, I had one prevailing thought that I could not shake no matter how many times I watched Olivia Colman play with a doll: “Damn, these are depressing as hell!

Outlander‘s upcoming spinoff Outlander: Blood of My Blood has already begun casting some familiar characters, which poses a big question: Will the new series include Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan)? In a universe that involves time travel, it seems like the door could certainly be open to the possibility, but considering this will be an original story not previously shared by author Diana Gabaldon, there’s no source material to reference for such Easter eggs. Blood of My Blood will chronicle the love stories between Claire’s parents Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) in World War I England as well as Jamie’s parents Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) in the 18th-century Scottish Highlands.
